We are at CTCA after seeing the Radiation Oncologist following the 4th treatment. Arnie is doing fine and the oncologist is happy with the treatment and progress. He showed us the computer image of the tumors and the map of the treatment area.
We were impressed with the precision of the map, compared to his radiation treatment in Toledo. The map showed the total area of radiation treatment, and also indicated areas that are receiving a higher dosage.
The Oncologist feels that there will be no significant side effects other than fatigue which we feel is good news. He examined Arnie's back and found no indication of "sunburn" yet. He said that might even develop after the completion of the treatments. He also told us that the benefit of the treatment would continue for several weeks after actual treatment was complete. It will be at least 6 weeks after treatment before a scan can be done that will indicate success. He also said that at about 12 weeks after treatment there would probably be more progress indicated.

Wow! To me that is awesome news!!! I'm so thankful for CTCA! I believe God is working through them to make Dad cancer free!

Something you may want to consider if they are still doing it is to attend the "Through Your Eyes" meeting they hold in the executive dining room in back of the cafeteria. They always had signs up and it was held every Thursday afternoon at 3:30 P.M. They encourage patients and caregivers to attend and offer your testimony re CTCA. Both positives & negatives if any. They usually have department managers, the president & CEO of CTCA and others in attendence to listen & take notes. That's one way they use to make their care & services the best it can be.

ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear the good news! Definately appears you are where GOD wants you. I feel very certain after these focused radiation treatments the cancer will be eliminated. This is very exciting! We will continue to pray for cancer free and good health.
